Why do we need new programming languages?

And why these new programming languages need new features?

I really do not understand this.

@karppinen I know. And Apple TV is my plan next as the TV is just fine otherwise.

However I get kicks of blocking the Samsung crap and I really love how I can now block that damn thing on IP level.

Our (soon to be recycled?) Samsung TV is sneaky bastard. It makes direct IP connections to tens of different addresses (pihole cannot block) and tries to use 8.8.8.8 (no, I'm not going to sell my DNS information to Google either).

Thanks to @mikrotik I could track these and block (I made simple python script to make reverse DNS query and generate commands to RouterOS directly.

Would you allow your TV to connect non-reversible IP addresses?

@simonbs I don't understand your answer.. But do you know what is the status with Android, are they using AI for such features and what is the success on that platform?

@lapcatsoftware There are few DNS-based blockers for iOS which I like to use to prevent apps from calling home. They are a bit sketchy but seem to do the work.

I blocked my Windows 10 telemetry spying machine's outgoing network traffic and now that Windows crap is trying to constantly get new DHCP address because it cannot access Microsoft servers. Just go a head and try MS crap, my router won't give you any new address :)

(I've only allowed few public IPs that I need to access from that machine)

My first 30 minutes with MikroTik LTE Chateu router has been fun.

200 euros for such a beast is actually cheap - don't tell MikroTik! And I have only scratched the surface..

Amazing amount of all kind of features. The Back-To-Home feature was jawdropping. Actually free VPN back to my home network with nice iOS app? Get out of here :D

@icing When Apple released the AI I thought that was a mistake move. They will never get thei AI on "Apple standards" level.

I have iPhone 15 Pro but I'm not going to enable the AI any time soon on. It creeps too much and probably doesn't check any "problems" in my use.

@johnmastodon @Saramo Voi nostaa esille, mutta sillä ei ole mitään merkitystä. Lisäksi luulen että Mastodonin nostaminen esille syö uskottavuutta ("eihän kukaan vakavissaan väitä että avoin lähdekoodi olisi ratkaisu"), joten siksi @Saramo jätti mainitsematta.

Mielenkiintoista, tai vähemmän mielenkiintoista olisi jos näin pääsisi käymään. Veikkaan että isot valtiot tulisivat aiheuttamaan mittavaa häiriötä Fediverse-verkolle, todenäköisesti lamaannuttaisivat sen.

Tässä vaiheessa ajattelin kertoa muutamia perusasioita kohteestamme. Kun olen ennenkin ollut.
